At&ts Hotspot plans to ‘roll out’ ‘toys and games’ across its hotspots in the coming weeks, following a review of its business plan.
At&ts will have a range of “games, toys and activities” in the home, but there is a separate plan for “games and toys for toddlers and children”.
“We’ve listened to our customers and our customers have been really supportive, but at the same time, we’ve also had to make some tough decisions,” At&s CEO Greg Smith said.
“We were not going to be able to put it out on a daily basis, but we have some of the most sophisticated technology that you can have, so it’s not a cakewalk to get to that point.”
At&t is launching the new home plan in the next two weeks, with a range to be announced at a later date.
At &ts plans to offer “a range of ‘games, activities, and entertainment’ across our hotspots” but is not giving any details on what this means.
“At&s Hotspot will continue to have a ‘T&T’ service for children and we’ll continue to offer that service to children in the homes of customers,” Mr Smith said, adding the new plan will be rolled out to customers with an existing contract.
“The number one thing we want to ensure is that we’re ensuring our customers are well taken care of.
The number one concern for us is to ensure we’re providing our customers with a great experience and a great product.”
At &s plans to have ‘toy’ and ‘tween games’ in homes across the network by the end of 2017.
It will also offer a “Toys & Games for toddlers” plan to be introduced later this year.
In the meantime, customers with existing At&ss plans will be able access “games for toddlers in homes” through an “in-home play-time service”.
At&sa plans to launch a “Games for Kids” program on the network later this month.
“It’s about continuing to be the world leader in games for children,” Mr Johnson said.
At this stage, Mr Johnson would not reveal what the home plans would look like, but said it would be “a bit like the At&sh Hotpot plans”.
“There are some of these games and toys that are coming out that are a little bit different to what we’re offering on our hotspot, so you’ll have a bit of different products that we’ll be announcing in the near future.”
